Tufts Library

Age: 29 years old

Current Residence: Weymouth, MA

We recently interviewed Arluah Wontan, Content Creator & Founder of Titus Media, following his successful business event hosted at Tufts Library.

Weymouth Libraries Foundation (WLF): Can you tell us about the recent headshot event your company, Titus Media, hosted at Tufts Library? What was the inspiration behind it?

Arluah: The Titus Media headshot event is a collaboration with the Tufts Library in Weymouth, aimed at providing complimentary professional headshots to the community. Our goal is to offer individuals the opportunity to enhance their professional presence by providing them with a high-quality headshot that they can use for various purposes such as websites, job applications, and more.

The inspiration behind this initiative stems from a simple observation I made within my workplace. I noticed many individuals using blank, outdated, or pixelated chat icons on their communication channels. Seeing the positive reception and impact of offering headshots at my workplace, I was motivated to extend this service to our broader community.

Recognizing the current challenges many individuals face in job hunting and career transitions, I wanted to make this resource accessible to everyone. By providing professional headshots at no cost, we hope to empower individuals and contribute to their success in the professional realm.

I'm excited about the opportunity to bring this initiative to our community and make a positive impact on individuals' professional journeys.

WLF: How do you believe professional headshots contribute to individuals' success in their careers or businesses?

Arluah: I firmly believe in the dual value of headshots for individuals. Firstly, they serve as a powerful tool for establishing trust and credibility in today's digital age. A professional headshot signals to prospective clients or employers that an individual takes their personal brand seriously, thus instilling confidence in their professionalism and commitment to their business endeavors.

Secondly, and perhaps less recognized but equally significant, is the profound personal impact a headshot can have. It offers participants a visual representation of their best self, capturing a moment of confidence and authenticity. In the ever-changing landscape of business, where challenges and uncertainties are inevitable, having a tangible reminder of one's strengths and identity can provide invaluable support during challenging times.

I believe in the transformative power of headshots to not only enhance professional presence but also to uplift individuals on a personal level, reminding them of their inherent worth and resilience.

WLF: What role do you see community libraries playing in supporting local businesses and professionals, especially in terms of networking and access to resources?

Arluah: I strongly believe that libraries can play an integral role in supporting businesses and professionals, given their existing reputation as hubs for growth, learning, and community engagement. By integrating more personal and professional development resources, libraries have the potential to become even more valuable assets to their communities.

This expansion not only benefits the community but also enhances the library's own brand. It transforms the library into a destination where parents can not only access resources for their children but also discover progressive value for themselves. It's a win-win situation that fosters growth and enrichment for all involved

WLF: What kind of impact do you hope events like this will have on the local community, both for individuals seeking professional development and for businesses in the area?

Arluah: I'm thrilled about the potential of this service to shine a spotlight on professionals seeking opportunities and small businesses within our community. Moreover, I'm hopeful that it will serve as a catalyst for individuals with budding business ideas, offering them a supportive environment to take their dreams from concept to reality.

By providing a resource for innovative and entrepreneurial minds, we empower our community to generate fresh ideas and innovative solutions to address challenges. To me, this initiative has the potential to foster a vibrant ecosystem where talent can flourish, leading to the emergence of a platform where individuals can showcase their ingenuity and abilities.

I look forward to witnessing the positive impact this service will have on our community and the exciting opportunities it will create for growth and collaboration.

WLF: Can you share any memorable moments or success stories from the recent headshot event at Tufts Library?

Arluah: One of the standout moments for me at the event was learning that one of the participants is publishing a children's book—a book that may even find its way onto the library shelves! She shared her plans to use the headshot as the About the Author photo, and it was truly inspiring to witness her passion and dedication. Being able to play a role in her creative journey was a meaningful experience for me.

WLF: Looking ahead, do you have plans to continue collaborating with local libraries or other community organizations to offer similar events in the future? If so, what can we expect?

Arluah: Absolutely! We're eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with other libraries and community organizations to expand our offering of similar events. Our goal is to make headshot stations accessible at a variety of venues, including job fairs, networking events, personal and professional development conferences, and corporate gatherings across Boston and its surrounding areas.

By partnering with like-minded organizations, we can broaden our reach and ensure that individuals from all walks of life have access to professional resources and opportunities for growth. Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our community and empower individuals to pursue their professional aspirations with confidence.

WLF: Lastly, for those who may have missed the event, how can they still benefit from Titus Media's services or engage with you?

Arluah: Sure thing, for anyone who is interested in booking a photo session or simply has questions, I encourage people not to hesitate to reach out; either through my website or any of the social media channels (listed below). We've carefully crafted packages to cater to individuals as well as large corporate companies, ensuring that there's something for everyone.
